Caribbean Cruise Part 6 - Forth Port - Castries, Saint Lucia
December 10th, we docked in Castries, Saint Lucia from 9:30am to 5:30pm. Again, it was another amazingly gorgeous day, and we took full advantage of that. When we got off the ship, we walked around their outdoor mall for a bit. During this there was a quick little rain which was actually quite nice, it was warm and refreshing, afterwords the sun came back out to stay for the rest of the day. Then we took a catamaran along the west coast of the island to go see the Pitons. We stopped at Anse Chastanet Beach and Reef for lunch and a quick splash in the ocean then headed back to our ship.
The catamaran was a beautiful, relaxing excursion and I was so happy to not be zooming around the streets of the villages and town. Instead, we got to see everything from the water, and it was so peaceful and fun. The island was absolutely stunning, and I would love to have had more time to enjoy it. The beach where we stopped was amazing, with the softest, almost black sand from the volcanos. They offered snorkeling and scuba diving at this beach which would have been super cool if we had had the time. The water was so beautiful, clear, warm, and basically calm. I'd suggest this excursion to anyone who is looking for just a relaxing, peaceful way to see the main sights of this beautiful island.
Leaving the port on the catamaran.
